I had no reluctance to represent UC since I have used this company’s product for over 25 years.  It was started in a small garage in Union City, hence the UC label.  The term virtual leak is one I still have to define for people in our industry unknowing of the nut and bolts of vacuum hardware preparation.  With work still to be accomplished on improving stock traceability UC has gone a step further with a High Temperature RGA Certified line of hardware.   This certifies that the hardware has been baked at 250 degrees Centigrade to at least 1 x 10-6 torr range vacuum.  The baking cycle is recorded along with its Residual Gas Analysis performance graph.  The graph corresponds to the product lot number.   This improves the traceability of your highly valued hardware with submicron processes that have to be 100% certified clean.  As one small leak on a nuclear submarine can spell disaster, one dirty or non-vented screw can really cause havoc with a thin film process or deposited material property.  Don’t take the chance by using unknown materials in your system.  UC Components would welcome your inquire.
