About Christopher Malocsay
With over four decades of experience in vacuum coating and thin film deposition technology, Christopher Malocsay brings a deep, technical understanding of process engineering, system design, and equipment integration across multiple industries.
Mr. Malocsay began his career serving six years in the United States Submarine Force, operating aboard two classes of nuclear submarines. Following his military service, he entered the thin film deposition industry with TriMedia, a Silicon Valley startup and early innovator in hard disk media manufacturing. This foundation in both high-reliability systems and emerging semiconductor technologies set the stage for a distinguished engineering career defined by precision, innovation, and leadership.
For fourteen years, Mr. Malocsay served with Semicore Equipment Inc., first as General Manager and later as Vice President beginning in 2001. During this tenure, he directed worldwide sales and product development initiatives spanning diverse sectors, including solar cell manufacturing, medical devices, MEMS, nanofabrication, and advanced military coating applications.
Prior to his leadership at Semicore, Mr. Malocsay founded and operated PVG Inc., a PVD consultation company that delivered technical solutions in equipment design, process optimization, and system integration. Over his 34-year career, he has contributed to the delivery of more than 450 systems worldwide, establishing himself as a specialty engineer in PVD system fabrication and process development.
Mr. Malocsay offers a unique perspective on the evolution of PVD equipment, combining a deep understanding of traditional vacuum technology with modern advancements in automation, software integration, and materials science. His expertise continues to serve clients seeking strategic insight and hands-on solutions in thin film and semiconductor applications.
He currently serves as Director of Sales and Marketing at UC Components Inc., located in Morgan Hill, California, while maintaining his own representative and service company, Livermore Sales LLC. Mr. Malocsay also contributes to the advancement of the industry through his leadership in the Northern California Chapter of the American Vacuum Society (NCCAVS), where he serves as Exhibit Chairman, as well as both the 2202 and 2025 Chapter Chairman.
